The Importance of Diversity in Venture Capital

When I read articles like this from Pitchbook, I can’t help but draw the correlation between staggeringly low diversity numbers and flailing VC-backed behemoths like Uber and WeWork. According to Pitchbook, 71% of London’s VC workforce is male.

Imagine a world in which there was diversity of opinion in meetings where investment decisions took place. Perhaps someone would ask the question, “When will this company be profitable?” or even “Can we trust their leadership team as they continue to build and grow?”

Precita’s solution to the gender diversity problem across industries is to interview the women first. It’s the best approach we’ve found for effectively increasing gender diversity at the executive level. Our clients are looking for the best athletes for their leadership teams, and we are able to deliver on that request while keeping diversity top of mind throughout the process.

Prioritizing diversity in hiring practices is imperative as your company grows, and we’re here to help. As Francesca Warner from Diversity VC states, “‘It's been proven in every different study possible, by every institution possible, that more diverse teams make better decisions and perform better on almost every metric.’"
